İçmeler is a less rowdy neighbor of the Turkish holiday resort of Marmaris. Situated only 8 kilometers from Marmaris, this laid back holiday tourist town is enclosed on three sides by clean pristine forests and by İçmeler Bay on the other side. İçmeler has developed quickly over the last decade with hotels, pensions, bars and restaurants being built in this former fishing village. Sponge diving in the area made the transition to tourist oriented watersports such as; scuba diving, waterskiing and many others a natural. This peaceful holiday resort attracted the attention of tourists seeking a quieter alternative to the fast-paced party city of Marmaris. The kind of nightlife that continues all night long until the early morning hours is rather scarce in İçmeler with local restaurants and bars generally featuring live music, shows and acts until about midnight. After 12pm the only nightlife available is at the nightclubs. Nightclubs featuring foam parties, loud music and dancing become increasingly active between 12pm and 1:30am. Most holiday visitors start their night with dinner and drinks in the restaurants early in the evening then move on to the bars until midnight with the more late night crowd going off to the nightclubs until 4am. İçmeler is a great destination for couples and families as it less oriented to the single party-hardy type of tourist. But, does have a great beach and all the other holiday resort amenities to make for an excellent holiday destination.

If you are a seroius nightlife affecionado, Marmaris located directly across the bay from İçmeler, is the place that is famous for its fantastic nightlife. In Marmaris there is a good selection of bars and clubs along the beachfront which play a variety of music and cater to different tastes. For hardcore partiers Bar Street is where its at. Located in the old town this street has over 100 bars and clubs ranging from rock bars to Club Areena, a massive outdoor nightclub that has foam parties. All are open to at least 4AM. But, beware when drinking on Bar Street as prices are much higher than those along the beach front even though entry to most clubs is free and there are certain times when special offers are available. Another destination for those seeking serious nightlife is Bodrum - the distance from İçmeler to Bodrum being 110 kilometers or 75 miles. Due to the road often being busy as well as curvy in many places it will be close to a 2 hour drive.
